The National Association of Nigerian Students has accused the Nigerian police of brutality against students.

     On Wednesday, violence erupted when a detachment of the police force fired shots at a peaceful protest by the students who had earlier occupied the Lafia-Akwanga Road demonstrating the death of a Part 2 student of the Department of Accountancy of the institution, earlier killed by a hit and run driver.
   NANS therefore asked the state government and security agencies to ensure that the culprits are brought to book without further delay.
    Comrade Obasi condemned the use of force by the police in addressing a protest by unarmed students, which later claimed the life of one student, with many injured.
